Pastor's Biography

Biography Pastor Charles Miskell was born May 2, 1963 , in Tylertown, Mississippi to Mr. M.C. Miskell and Mrs. Margie Breland-Miskell. When Pastor Miskell was a young boy, his family moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He attended Harrison Central high school and after graduating, he served in the United States Army. It was during this time he gave his life to Christ in a greater way. Growing up the son of a minister, he was taught the word of God and learned to minister through song. He’s one of the most well-known praise and worship leaders that’s currently performing throughout South Mississippi and surrounding states. Recognized as a spirit-filled worship leader, he started several gospel groups that traveled and performed throughout the South. He also served as minister of music for several churches on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Years later, following in his father’s footsteps, he was called to preach the powerful word of God. In 2007, he became the pastor of the Greater Mount Rest Baptist Church in Gulfport, Mississippi. Pastor Miskell’s vision is to build the people by delivering the word of God through preaching and singing songs of praise. May 14, 2010, with God’s direction, he released his debut cd, “Expect a Miracle”.
Pastor Miskell is married to the former Marlene Redmon of Biloxi Mississippi. They are the proud parents of seven children; and 4 grandchildren.
